DESCRIPCIÓN:
La Ciudad del Coca es la Capital de la Provincia de Orellana y es una ciudad relativamente joven, establecida en una terraza aluvial conformada y delimitada por los Ríos Coca, Napo y Payamino, los cuales son el marco geográfico e hidrológico de la ciudad. La población de la ciudad está conformanda con la participación de personas emigrantes de casi todas las provincias del Ecuador, motivadas por la colonización de territorios y la oferta de trabajo en la industria petrolera. La ciudad y el cantón también esta conformado con la participación de tres etnias amazónicas: Kichwas, Shuar y Wuaorani.
Esta capital provincial ofrece todos los servicios básicos, infraestructura hotelera, comercial, financiera y de comunicaciones terrestre y aérea, así como todo el apoyo logístico para las actividades turísticas de la región.
Es un sitio histórico de donde se establece que partió el español Francisco de Orellana, al descubrimiento del Río Amazonas, marcando también la ruta y el descubrimiento del oriente ecuatoriano. La ciudad es la puerta de entrada para el conocimiento de la amazonía ecuatoriana, su biodiversidad, recursos hídricos y sus manifestaciones culturales. En la actualidad es un importante punto de inicio de la ruta comercial y turística, hacia el oriente peruano y brasileño en el Río Amazonas. El Coca es también conocido como la capital petrolera del Ecuador.
Francisco de Orellana city
The city of Francisco de Orellana is the capital of the province of Orellana and it is a relatively young city, established in an alluvial terrace agreed and delimited for the rivers Coca, Napo and Payamino, those which are the geographical and hydrological frame of the city. The population of the city is conformed to the participation of emigrants peoples of almost all provinces of the Equator, motivated for the colonization of territories and the offer of work in the petroleum industry. The city and the canton also this conformed to the participation of three amazon ethnoses: Kichwas, Shuar y Wuaorani.
This provincial capital offers all basic services, hotel, commercial, financial substructure and of terrestrial and air communications, as well as the whole logistic support for the tourist activities of the region.
It is a historical place from where it is established that departed the Spanish Francisco of Orellana, to the discovery of the Amazon river, marking also the route and the discovery of the Ecuadoran Orient. The city is the door of entrance for the knowledge of the Ecuadoran amazon , your biodiversity, hydric resources and your cultural manifestations. At present is an important point of start-up of the commercial and tourist route, towards the Peruvian and Brazilian Orient in the Amazon river.
